How to Do the Migos AI Trend
A practical walkthrough of how to do the Migos AI trend on TikTok or Reels without copying the original COLORS recording.
If you came here for how to do the Migos AI trend, you want the social version: two people, orange wall, one mic, post it. Not a new Migos album. Not a voice clone.
The long source page is Migos AI. This is the posting walkthrough.
How to do the Migos AI trend in one pass
Here is the short version, without a video editor.
- Pick your pair. Two friends, a couple, you and a pet. Adults who agreed. Not a celebrity still.
- Take two photos. Separate files. Face and upper body. Even light.
- Open a Hotel Lobby or COLORS template. Summrs, Media.io, AIReel, CapCut, Imageat, or whatever app still has the preset.
- Assign left and right. Do not put both people in one selfie.
- Generate a 9:16 clip. Fifteen seconds is enough.
- Watch it once. If faces melt or they swap sides, stop. Change the photos before you post.
- Download a file with no watermark if you can.
- Post to TikTok, Reels, or Shorts. Do not add a huge caption over the mic.
That is the feed version. The original COLORS file is 2 minutes 46 seconds. Nobody is watching that in a For You queue. Cut it yourself only if you are posting a tribute, not a meme.
What the trend actually copies
The joke is the frame. Quavo and Takeoff, as Unc & Phew, on A COLORS SHOW, 17 June 2022. Orange studio. One hanging microphone. They trade verses from “Hotel Lobby.”
XXL, Complex, and The Source all wrote about the September 2026 wave. People dropped celebrities, pets, and exes into that room. Quavo reshared the original on 23 September. Complex quoted him: “Aye Take we viral again The original!!! #HOTELLOBBY”.
The way through without stepping on that recording: take the room, not the file. Dreamina’s page is the strict version. Two authorized photos. Original duo. No celebrity likeness. No copyrighted footage.
If a template pastes you onto the real clip, you are in a different legal pile. The Migos AI guide says so in the likeness section.
Pairings that read
The trend is a conversation. One person delivers a line. The other reacts. Then they switch. Matching outfits are optional. Matching energy is not.
Pets work when each animal has its own still. Mixed pairs work the same way. A baby-and-parent clip only makes sense if you have the right to post both faces.
Do not use a private photo from someone who is not in on the joke. Russell Simmons posted an AI clip of himself and Kimora Lee Simmons. The daughter’s reaction made the news. That is not a template problem. That is a consent problem.
Captions, audio, and hashtags
On TikTok the choice is mostly audio. Some people pair the clip with the COLORS performance. Some use a short of the official “Hotel Lobby” track. Some mute it and let the mouth movement sit there looking wrong on purpose. If the app already baked in a song, listen to the export before you hit post. A second audio layer will clash.
Hashtags in the coverage were #HOTELLOBBY more than a branded trend name. You can write “Migos AI” in the caption. You do not have to.
Skip on-screen text. The mic is already in the middle of the frame. A sticker over it kills the joke.
If the first post looks fake
Bad light. Sunglasses. A hand over the mouth. Two people in one photo. Those are the usual failures. A second try is almost always: retake the stills, same template. Do not switch apps until the photos are actually usable. A better model will not save a face the size of a thumbnail.
If the tool keeps blending faces, it is the wrong model for a duo. Switch to a preset that already has left and right slots.
The long guide is on the Migos AI page.
